Nothing is uploaded — processing runs in your browser
How it works
- Extract pages: enter a range like
1-3, 5, 8-10to pull specific pages into a new PDF. - Split into parts: divide the PDF into equal chunks — set 1 to get individual pages.
- Pages are copied directly using pdf-lib — text, images, and formatting are preserved exactly.
- Nothing is uploaded to any server. Your PDF never leaves your device.
- Encrypted or password-protected PDFs cannot be processed.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is my PDF uploaded to a server?
No. The entire split and extraction process runs inside your browser using pdf-lib. Your file is never sent to any server and never leaves your device.
What's the difference between Extract and Split?
Extract lets you pick specific pages — for example, pages 1-3 and 7 — and download them as a single new PDF. Split divides the whole document into multiple equal-sized parts, such as every 5 pages, and gives you a download button for each part.
How do I extract only certain pages?
Type a page range in the box — for example: 1-5 to get the first five pages, or 1-3, 7, 10-12 to pick a mix of individual pages and ranges. Then click Extract pages.
Can I split into individual pages?
Yes. In Split mode, set the pages-per-part to 1. Each page will become its own downloadable PDF file.
Will the text and images be preserved?
Yes. pdf-lib copies pages directly without re-rendering them, so text, images, fonts, and layout are preserved exactly as in the original.
Can I split a password-protected PDF?
No. Encrypted PDFs cannot be processed. Remove the password first using a PDF reader, then use the splitter.
