Does cropping reduce image quality?
Cropping itself does not reduce quality — it simply removes pixels outside the selected area. However, if you save the result as a JPG (which is lossy), some quality is lost during compression. To preserve full quality, download as PNG (lossless) or set JPG quality to 95–100%.
What is the difference between aspect ratio and free crop?
A fixed aspect ratio constrains the crop rectangle so that width and height maintain a specific relationship (e.g. 16:9 means width is always 1.78× the height). Free crop lets you drag the handles to any shape independently. Use a fixed ratio when you need output images to match a specific platform requirement.
How do I crop an image to a specific pixel size?
